TRENDY AND FRESH, WITH A TOUCH OF THE PRACTICAL

Maruti have been a touch guarded in giving the inserts in the doors and on the top of the dash a softer shade of blue but it is still funky and a welcome change from the beige everybody seems to be using these days. The central console and aircon vents have silver effect surrounds with the air-con controls and door handles getting a similar finish. It all makes for a trendy cabin, a trait that carries over to the large white-faced speedo, the tacho housed in a separate pod and the gear lever integrated into the central console. There are lots of storage spaces – cupholders, an open tray above the glove box, a tray above the central console. A big plus is that you don’t need to crouch to get into the car; you simply walk in and out of it. Its airy ambience is enhanced by the light colour of the plastics and clever use of colours in the petrol - engine variant.

Inside the Ritz is genuinely path breaking- if color coded dash board and a centre console mounted gear lever don’t impress you, the overall ergonomics will. The single, large speedo is very mini like and I love it.
