Overtaking at highway speeds is easy and doesn’t require gear changes often. The gearbox is slick and lighter. Fuel efficiency at 15.0 kmph (city) 19.7kmph (highway) is the best of the lot and promises low running cost.
BEST IN CLASS EFFICIENCY
This is the first BS IV emission compliant engine in this class and fuel efficiency is another talking point - the ARAI claimed figure being 17.7kmpl which is best in its class. In character it’s similar to Suzuki engines we’re familiar with, happy to rev and requiring a decent dose of revs to keep the speed up. But there’s more torque lower down the rev range and that make it easier to drive in the city.
A SMOOTH AND SILENT RIDE
The Ritz’s all new K-12M petrol motor id Honda like in performance and refinement. Idle is vibration free and almost silent, with only a hint of engine audible. Accelertion in the DDiS diesel engine is strong and will get to 100 koh in 14.3 sec flat. It also revs very high for diesel motor and feels more refined.
UNIQUE AND RESPONSIVE
Ritz K12M engine is unique for India. For over all purpose, it’s the Ritz engine that noses ahead. Quit at idle and smooth when revving, the responsive motor feels quick.

The 1.3 Diesel is fabulously tractable and fabulously efficient. As for the engine, line up to paper pusher and hybrid lovers. And ask them to come up with 16kpl with this much simplicity, with this much tractability and for this much money.
